Nguyen Phat Tri is a well-known hairdresser from Vietnam, who recently went viral on social media doing her amazing flower-shaped hairstyles. The professional graduated in biotechnology but in the end, decided to follow her heart by doing makeup and hair.
Fashion Life reached out to Nguyen to find out a little bit more.
"I love my country and I want to create hairstyles that represent the country and people of Vietnam.
I am very much a perfectionist in creating a new hairstyle, I need time and a lot of creativity, meticulous research. The journey to complete a hair model from the initial idea to the actual product is not a simple one. I have to sketch the design, calculate the layout, shapes and then find materials, accessories.
So the time it takes me to create each hairstyle will also be different depending on the difficulty level of that job. Sometimes it only takes 3-5 days, but sometimes it takes 2-3 months for a new hair sample to be completed.
In addition, I also pay close attention to the accessories that come with it, which are an important part of making my work stand out more."

This is really impressive. I could see letting her work on a hairpiece for 2-3 months for me to wear on my special day, but I can't imagine what that would cost. This is gorgeous.

It's a little headpiece / decoration, not a hat, often with lace or feathers, you might see ladies wearing them at big events like horseracing.

Most seem to be wigs. They are made from nylon/ plastic
The secret to some of these, is... glue. No, really. You take hair extensions and place them on plastic wrap. Then you stroke some glue on them and let it set so it becomes this sheet of hair. Then you bend it, shape it, cut it and glue pieces together and stick them in to models real hair.
Wow this is one talented hair artist!
Really beautiful, but I would hate to have to undo the hairstyle afterwards. The amount of hairspray and teasing... would just be too much damage to the hair.

Awe inspiring. I can't understand how the ones that look sheer are created. Love the flowers. However, mannequins are very unsettling.

i just cut my hair short so this ALMOST makes me wanna grow it back. ALMOST. they're amazing, especially the hat one
Beautiful work. Lots of these are very intricate or busy and would look perfect with minimal accessories and simple (plain), elegant attire.
It took me far too long to realize that these were extensions
Some of the models appear to be real humans. They must be wigs; nobody could sit still for two months!
