Italian Yarn Bombers Recreate Pablo Picasso’s Famous Guernica Mural

Sul filo dell’arte is a group of passionate women in Italy who come together to collaborate on urban knit and crochet street art and large scale installations.

For their latest project, they have recreated several aspects of Picasso’s famous Guernica mural. Painted for the 1937 World’s Fair, Guernica was a protest of the bombings of its namesake, a small town in Northern Spain, during the Spanish Civil War.

Below you’ll find several photos and videos from this troupe’s spectacular homage.
